When I made the decision to book Mimosa Boutique Hotel & Hostel in Tulum MX and host Kundalini Kink & Cuddles, my first solo international gay men's retreat, I won!
I listened to my intuition, i got creative, i trusted the universe and i new in my heart this was going to be a magical experience, not just for me, but for those who chose to join me.
When I say, I won, what I mean is that I established a mindset that I couldn't and wouldn't lose. I made the decision, no matter how it all worked out, I would learn and grow in ways I wouldn't be able to predict. Indeed I did.
I spent months promoting, reaching out, booking guests and coming up with creative and fun ways to "fill the retreat."
In the end, I'm grateful for the grace of the universe which is able to manage my capacity vs feeding my ego. If my ego would have won out, I'm sure the experience would have been exhausting due to armature planning and I would have had less time to connect and engage with each participant. As it turned out, with two last minute cancelations I was gifted the presence of six beautiful souls, and the seven of us created a family.
I'd be remised if I didn't acknowledge our 8th gay family member and gracious host, Jimmy. The owner of Mimosa Boutique Hotel & Hostel. This quiet, gentle man allowed us to be, to play and get naked and connect in more ways than one. His incredible staff treated us all like family and in the end we were sad to say farewell.
The retreat weekend schedule was present, but flexible and allowed all the participants room for selfcare, rest and self-determination. From the undressing ceremony, to the morning breathwork practice to the theme parties, shared touch and closing circle, everyone was able to choose their path.
We collectively and individually explored the local area from the central business district, to the Mayan Ruins to an enchanted Cenote 💀. We grounded, we wondered, we shared and held space for one another while enjoying beautiful meals and private moments.
In the end, the transformation was unavoidable for each of us. There is something about travel, shared queer affirming spaces and opportunities to do the work that alters our experience in so many different ways.
When we say yes to getting outside our bubbles, yes to sharing ourselves with others and yes to new experiences, our spirit expands, our imagination wonders and our gratitude for life shines more brightly.
This year, the year of the Fire Horse is not a time to be small, predictable or shy. This is the year to break from routine, do something big, expand your experience and get the F*ck outside your comfort zone! The magic is unavoidable out there in this great big world. Lean in to your intuition, your adventurous spirit, your inner child and reach for the stars, they are calling you.
So with your feet firmly planted on the earth, take a breath with me. Prepare to release what is no longer serving you to make room for something beautiful. Queer Escape and Reboot / Terra Rosa & Sitges, Spain / August 17-24, 2026
I would like to invite you go join me in Barcelona Spain on Tuesday, August 17 and we'll make the one-hour road trip to Terra Rosa, a space dedicated to the personal, communal, and spiritual growth of its guests, residents, and the international LGBTQ+ community, There we will spend 4 nights and 5 days amerced in nature, community and breathwork.
